Perrish 9

Melodic Alt-Metal / Dark Pop

Perrish 9 exists somewhere between weight and atmosphere.

Built on tension, contrast, and the things people leave unsaid, Perrish 9 blends modern metal with cinematic texture, dark melody, and controlled aggression. Heavy when it needs to be and restrained when it matters, the music moves between vulnerability and impact without settling comfortably into either.

Each release is treated as part of a larger world, where sound, imagery, and emotion are designed to reinforce one another rather than exist separately.

There is a sense that something is already in motion, and Perrish 9 seems more interested in following it than explaining it.

60 second preview

“Red Thread” marks a turning point for Perrish 9, bringing the band together with British producer Andy Reilly to push its sound into heavier and more defined territory. Reilly’s career has crossed generations of heavy music, with production and engineering work connected to artists including Cradle of Filth, Moonspell, Bruce Dickinson, The Cult, UFO, and others.

“The result feels strangely familiar without sounding like a throwback.”

Written and produced by Perrish 9 and Reilly, the track was built around a simple idea: recover some of the grit, danger, and physicality that made the late-’90s and early-2000s heavy-music era feel so immediate, then drag it forward through the precision, scale, and low-end impact of modern metal and metalcore production.

The result feels strangely familiar without sounding like a throwback. “Red Thread” carries the raw edges and tension of an earlier era, but its weight, atmosphere, and detail belong firmly to the present. For Perrish 9, it represents less of a reinvention than a clearer definition of where the band is headed.

Lyrics

Verse 1 There’s a tether between us, invisible, old. We’ve worn different faces in lifetimes before. You pry to see, look through me, Trying to understand The part of me that you know you need, But I, I can’t deny. Chorus Your gravity, Pulling me down. I see the remains, yet I won’t turn around. Magnetic and dangerous, Comfort and ache, A host that gives to the damage it takes. Wrap me up, Lay me inside of this tomb. Verse 2 I pull at the thread showing through your skin, Yet fear is withholding, won’t let me in. Holding onto fractured pieces, Tight enough until I bleed. Open for your dissection. Can’t you just let me be? Chorus Your gravity, Pulling me down. I see the remains, yet I won’t turn around. Magnetic and dangerous, Comfort and ache, A host that gives to the damage it takes. Bridge Do you see, do you see me as I am? If the world stopped turning, would this thread lead you here? If the world stopped turning, would you still see me clear? Chorus Your gravity, Pulling me down. I see the remains, yet I won’t turn around. Magnetic and dangerous, Comfort and ache, A host that gives to the damage it takes. Won’t let me be. Do you see me clearly now?
